SSESA Lonavla Picnic 2013

More than 50 Stanislites both young and old came together to enjoy a weekend of fun at the SSESA Ex-students picnic from May 31st to June 1st 2013 in the serenity of St. Stanislaus Villa, Lonavla.

From the moment booking opened for the annual weekend get-away, young and old ex-Stanislites were already there scrambling to get their favorite rooms.

There were games or just chilling, good food and great company as this group of Stanislites re-kindled old friendships and made new ones as this yearly sojourn allowed an opportunity for all to re-connect with nature.

It is unbelievable that even after decades of serving numerous groups, ‘Stanislaus Villa’ still stands warm and welcoming among pristine woods. A breath of fresh air indeed! The flavours of Mumbai, Goa and Lonavala blended in the food, jokes, games, songs, ‘spirits’ and prayer. We had it all, from a swim, bonfire, derby, karaoke, tele-games to plenty of walks, chats, laughter and refreshing rest. Those who were there for the first time were already checking the booking-date for next-year’s picnic.

Thanks to Denzil Rego and family who conducted this years picnic ably supported by Agnelo Netto, Pervez Motafram, Dominic & Sheila Fernandes and Stan & Celine Lewis.

This SSESA sojourn will be savored for a very long time

An evening to remember

The start to the 150 years celebrations got off to a flying start, yesterday July 31st 201, the feast of St Ignatius of Loyala. The Eucharist started with a beautiful context setting by Roger Pereira an illustrous Alumni from the batch of 1955, he referred to the various alumni that had achieved great things in the various fields of corporate life, govt services, armed services, globally and in India besides the well know achievements in sports.

His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracious Celebrated the mass concelebrated with 17 priests and the Jesuit Provincial Rev Fr Vernon Dsouza SJ. He thanked the Jesuits for their service to the community and St Stanislaus in particular and urged them to pick up the challenges today as St Ignatius would have done.

The Choir was especially beautiful with the primary students, that lent a feeling of pride, nostalgia, and service that could not help bring a tear to the eye reminiscing the years we were all there.

Readings and prayers of the faithful were done by Parents, Ex-students and Teachers.

The church was filled with all that make St Stanislaus what it is, the students, teachers, ex-teachers, ex students, parents and the community. Not to mention the wonderful decorations.

On the way to the hall one met ex-students and exchanged festive greetings on the 3 flights of stairs that all stanislites will remember.

The function in the hall was well hosted by teacher Sanjyot the current Sr School Maths teacher and she kicked it off by asking the secretary of SSESA, PTA and the teacher as well one of the school workers which was indicative how inclusive the fundtion was.

Together We Can - A School of the future

Dear Stanislite,

Greetings from Mumbai.

Starting July 31st this year, your beloved school, St Stanislaus, will begin to celebrate its 150th year! (Please ‘pencil’ that date in your diary.) Starting as an orphanage 150 years ago, it rose to the top until the arrival of advanced international curricula in the country. This 150th year milestone can well be another Turning Point in the annals of this illustrious institution.

We would like to invite you to share our “Dream 2013”, a transformational project focused to create a world class school that will help our students become globally competitive. This involves transformation from school infrastructure to software to mindware, from technology to lesson plans, from classrooms, laboratories and libraries to the swimming pool, playgrounds and an artificial surface fit for Olympians. This transformation cannot happen without your support. The project aims to provide Stanislites with a deeper cause to celebrate the school’s sesquicentenary (150 years) in 2013 by re-energizing the school as a pioneer in 21st century education.

Dream 2013 is driven by three strategic intentions that are aligned with the school’s mission and vision.

Stanislaus Exhibition Match 14th Jan_087.JPG

The second match involved the School Under 12 boys and alumni. The little Under 12's literally made alumni run around and won the match
