The good ole times
Hi everyone in our Class 0f 66…..(XI-A) This is something else….believe me…it’s been like a lifetime and suddenly I’m face to face with familiar names…..names that we came across on a daily basis and that so very suddenly disappeared only to appear again after more than four decades. Just a quick look at your names….Charles, Gerard and Vernon….and I did’nt have to pause to recollect…it all came back as easily as if we’d been together just yesterday in school…
Charley… your ear-to ear smile is something I can still picture without difficulty
Gerry……. you still play table tennis?...remember the good old days in the boarders dining hall, the end part of which was the TT area…am not too sure if you held the bat Japanese style like Vernon and Claude… (wonder where Claude is)
Vernon……man!!! You still sporting that fuzzy top???...seems you’re in Goa, which part? Maybe we’ll meet up there some day….not that I go to Goa very often. Remenber the days of RSP? Was fun… T
here are so many others, and I wonder where they all are…If any of you guys from our class XI-A are anywhere in the UAE give me a holler.. would be more than pleased to rush out to meet up. Anyone from the B and C divisions too…maybe we could revive something from our past….

Denzil are you related to...
And Denzil I belonged to the class of 1979 (Jr College) but upto the 10th there was a classmate of mine called Reynold De Souza and he had an older brother Desmond De Souza.
Are you related to these guys? Do you know where they are?
Hope to hear from you.

Hello Ilidio!
Hello Ilidio,
And I hope Denzil does not mind that I use space on this blog to say hello to you!
But I was just browsing and its wonderful to catch up with you again. I can be reached at sylvan_valladares@yahoo.ca
Cheers
Could be 3 out of 4
Name is ILIDIO. I got into this habit of introducing myself by my sir name as many found its pronunciation tongue-twisting possibly because of its Portuguese origin.
This Gerry originally lived near Hill Road bus stop (near Peter Dias Road) before Virendra Colony. So I could be onto the right Gerry.
I am still trying to figure out the Ranwar Vernon Aranha. I am surprised there are two such chaps with fuzzy hair. The St Peter's Vernon moved to opposite Mt Carmel's Church after marriage and is presently settled in Goa.
Where were you residing during your school days?
Going back in time
Are you referring to Vernon Aranha from St Peter's Colony who used to act in plays? Claude Barretto, a bit lanky chap who lived in or near the bakery on Bazaar Road? Gerard Monteiro (good in Maths)who lived in Virendra Colony? and, Charles Dias lived up Mt Mary's steps?
I am from the 1967 batch, but was an active (nearly daily) table tennis player. You brought back memories of the boarder's dining room where the table was located and redolent of jam and bread. Also, how boiling water could help in restoring an out-of-shape ball. I am trying to connect your name.
Cheers!
really brings back memories does'nt it?
2 out of 4 ( I think)
You were right about Claude, he's from Bazaar Rd but not sure whether he still lives there...I passed by that side very recently during a short trip to Bombay, and thought about him...
You could be right about good ole Charley boy...memeory fails me but I think he used to live either near Mt Mary steps or Pali Hill...
Gerry used to live near the Hill Rd bus stop near Mehboob Studios as far as I can remember, but again I could be wrong.
You got the wrong Vernon, cos he used to live in Ranwar, and his uncle was Master Aranha...that should jog your memory a bit.
But heyyy....all in all....was just super getting some feedback from you....we just might know each other, though your name does'nt ring a very loud bell...
Do keep in touch...who knows...we'll probably come up with something that'll help tie up a lot of loose ends...
Bye for now and Cheers...
