Thank You for supporting the Teachers Healthcare Initiative

We are delighted to inform you that we have renewed the Teachers Health insurance for the sixth year in a row. This unique Healthcare program that is 100% funded by alumni of our school now covers 142 Teachers, Ex-Teachers, Staff and Ex-Principals. Of these 64 are retired teachers.

To coincide with the launch of the 150 years celebrations of our Alma Mater we conducted a Health Camp for teachers and staff (both current and retired) covered under the Healthcare program. A total of 10 tests including haemogram, diabetes, cardiac risk evaluation as well as post consultation were conducted at the Holy Family Hospital. We are happy to inform you that 73 teachers and staff availed of the health check-ups.

You can read "Thank You" notes from Mrs Anita Checker (Craft) and Mr Dev Sharma (Math) who have availed of the healthcare program. We look forward to your continued support of the Teachers Healthcare program and other alumni initiatives.

Visit to Uplat English School

We Charles Dias, Ronald Mascarenhas & Royce D'silva representing SSESA visited the Uplat Campus on 17th Feb 20013. Fr. Joe Alberque SJ, Fr. Malcom Netto SJ & Fr. Aloysius Morzello SJ were present. We were satisfied with the running of the school.

The school is co-ed and the money we raised has been put to good use to subsidize poor adivasi students. They demonstrated a solar cooker which lit up a piece of paper in 5 seconds [a photo is enclosed] They say that they would like us to pursue with the provincial of the Jesuits for permission to continue with the English medium school. They also requested for more vocations/volunteers as from next year they would be only 2 priests as Fr. Aloysius is being transferred to St Xavier's College Mumbai. This year we gave them a cheque of Rs 50,000 donated by alumni. Know more about the Uplat English School here

This parade was flagged off with a cycle-through by selected students around 60, specially trained by Mr. Faisal Thakur a Management graduate  and a professional cyclist, to spread the message of an eco-friendly environment.

Student’s parents spread the message of Secular Nationalism by lining the roads, waving the National flag  and cheering the marchers.

The Chief Guest Brig R. S. Grewal- Deputy Director General, NCC, Maharashtra, took the salute on a specially constructed dais opposite  latest ‘Godrej’s –Natures Basket’ along the march-past route.

The Guest of Honour was Señor Domingo Manso the Spanish Consul General since the Jesuit Spanish priests have contributed so much towards St. Stanislaus’ development through the years. An exchange of flags took place to strengthen the bond between the two countries. There were other dignitaries too.

This event provided a platform for us to take a pledge for the protection of women by our M.P. Madame Priya Dutt.

Three short cultural events – Lezim, Bharatnatyam and Malkhamb were presented by the schools to showcase India.

Class of 1988 with Teacher Thelma Misquitta

Over 850 alumni along with past and present Teachers and Principals assembled on the School Background on 5th January 2013 to spend a few precious moments with friends and batchmates to relive their memories at St. Stanislaus High School. It was an evening when grown men became boys once again.

There was Class of 1988 easily recognizable with their self-made custom T-shirts just for the evening. There were alumni from as far back as 1942 to as recent as 2012 all sharing one passion “Proud to be a Stanislite”

You can view images of this glorious evening HERE

The school was beautifully illuminated in the school colors of green and yellow. Alumni were greeted at the entrance by the SSESA Committee as the school's Boy Scouts stamped their hands to mark an entry to a place full of memories,  The school backgrounds. The hosts for the evening were Mr. Neale Murray (Class of 1977) accompanied by Mr. Al Nasser Zakaria (Class of 1985) who welcomed all while the two artists captured the mood on canvas.
