Launched and growing...

The launch has been and uneventful affair. The day after was one of a little stress, when we noticed that site was down. Unfortunately our hosting provider in the US decided to upgrade their systems. And guess what... Yupp, Murphy was there (The Murphy who said "If anything can go wrong, it will; at the worst possible moment")

Anyway we're up and running and growing -- a steady trickle and hoping it continues that way, i,e, a steady trickle rather than a huge rush and absolute silence.

Site Down: Resovled

Sorry for the inconvenience this morning for all those who could not login and got a "Internal Server Error 500". It was a technical glitch.

Read about it below

  2006-11-15 02:50am by brandon - Hello Gerard,

During the implementation of a new system for server resource management yesterday there was a mis-functioning that became obvious on some of the servers and affected several accounts. The problem might have resulted in your website displaying message for Internal Server Error 500.

We have been working on the problem during the last few hours and have managed to permanently fix it.

Please excuse us for the inconvenience caused.

Fr General in his meeting with the Governing Council of the Jesuit Alumni Associations of India, has invited suggestions on what the Jesuits should consider with respect to initiatives concerning alumni in the future. These would be presented to the 2008 General Congregation of the Jesuit order.

Could we begin this exercise right away?

Conrad Gonsalves
Council Member, World Union of Jesuit Alumni

Members of the Governing Council of JAAI the Jesuit Alumni Associations of India met with Fr General in a private audience on November 9 2006 at the Pedru Arupa Centre, Goa.

Colin Coelho, Devyani Nawab, Siddarth Dudhoria, Dr Santhosh Rollands, Ronnie D'Costa and Conrad Gonsalves spent thirty minutes presenting the programmes that Alumni Associations in India have undertaken and explaining the thrust in water related projects that are part of the National project. Fr Kolvenbach received these reports and invited suggestions on what the Jesuits should consider regarding Alumni that could be presented for consideration at the General Congregation scheduled for 2008. The Goan Press covered the event extensively. The evening of November 9th was spent with Fr General at Loyola's at Margao where he invited all alumni to be agents for social change. I have put up a few pictures of the event someplace elso on this portal Conrad Gonsalves Council Member, World Union of Jesuit Alumni
